Dr. Michael White completed a Doctorate (2018), and a Masters (2016) in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology from Pacific College of Health and Science. While completing his coursework, he earned licensure for massage therapy, and worked independently at a physical therapy office, and then at Dorfman Kinesiology. There he apprenticed to learn kinesiology and the specialized Cross-Fiber Technique (CFT), a manual manipulation that seeks to release muscle imbalances and allow proper postural alignment. Combined with a knowledge base built with the Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience from University of California, San Diego, Dr. White began to develop his unique approach to cases of pain and disease from both an eastern and western standpoint.

Continuing his pursuit to optimize healthcare for his community, Michael studied Japanese Meridian Therapy with instructors KC Conover, and Dr Elizabeth Talcott. He  completed externships at Rady Children’s Hospital, and at RIMAC sports center at UCSD, where studied sports medicine acupuncture with Matt Callison. Dr. White continually educates himself, and sees himself as a forever student. He has taken workshops with KC Conover, Matt Callison, and most recently with Nigel Dawes, who is a practitioner and teacher of Kampo medicine, which uses abdominal diagnosis to prescribe Chinese herbs. He plans on completing a 2-year certification with Nigel in 2024.

Michael believes that there are myriad causes of pain, and disease, and every person has their own complex presentations. At White Fox Integrative Medicine, Dr. White uses a combination of CFT, acupuncture and Chinese herbs to create harmony within the body, thereby optimizing physiology. During treatments, Dr. White uses CFT to break up adhesions in muscle and fascia, while mobilizing the body by taking joints through their range of motion. He uses acupuncture to create balance in the musculoskeletal system and the internal organs. When indicated, he uses Kampo to prescribe Chinese herbs, which repairs the internal organs, which allows a change in the internal environment and a return to homeostasis for the body. This combination of modalities allows him to improve issues with acute and chronic pain, headaches, migraines, digestion, sleep, ob-gyn, allergies, common cold, and more. Michael lives in Carlsbad with his wife and their two young daughters. He loves being outside and active. Surfing, camping, hiking, biking and walking by the beach are his favorite activities. Sharing those experiences with his family leaves him balanced and grounded in this busy world.
